What are you really feeding your baby?

As a dietitian, I am always looking at the nutritional value of products in the supermarket.

A walk down the baby food aisle will leave you inundated with colourful packaging and overwhelmed by claims of natural and organic ingredients. These products claim to be low in sugar and salt and preservative free. But when you dig deeper you will find that the vast majority of these “healthy” options are nutritionally inadequate for babies if consumed regularly.

Misleading marketing and labelling is used to trick consumers into thinking products are healthier than they really are. Coupled with misinformation spruiked by unqualified people on social media, its no surprise that parents and carers struggle to understand the nutritional needs of their babies when transitioning to solid foods.

Caregivers need to be empowered to choose nutritionally adequate foods for their baby which is why I started Baby Bites Nutrition Service. Being in control of the food you feed your child is critical as research shows early diet and safe eating practices are the building blocks for positive short and long term health outcomes.

One-on-one consultations can be expensive, so I developed a workshop that is affordable and accessible. The Baby Bites Workshop teaches all you need to know about introducing solids in a relaxed group environment. Here you can talk to other caregivers and have your questions answered by a qualified professional.

Baby Bites provides you with the skills and knowledge needed to transition you baby to soild foods, establish a healthy foundation diet, support growth and development and prevent chronic disease in adulthood.

Book into one of the upcoming workshops now and make sure the first bite is the right bite.
